I think we have had rain all week.  I might be wrong but it sure feels like it.  There was a time when the boys were younger when constant rain would have completely done my head in.  Now it just does it in a little.  LOL

So LOs 'Retreat' and 'Friends' are Lyn Jordan's class ones.  The papers/ embellies below are much more my style.  There's a big pocket in the retreat one ready to fill- now to find some bits. LOL  Vicki I think the photo of us was one of yours, thank you!

Pretty Party

Good morning.  How are you doing?  I have been a little under the weather with a bad stinking cold.  Usually if I get a cold I can take it a bit easy and keep going.  Not this one though.  One more month of winter.  Winter and I do not see eye to eye.  

Onto the LO.  This is Ollie's 5th party and I have used Crate's Pretty Party range.

One of my gift bags using PTIs Front and Centre Die.  I love this and use it heaps.  This was for Ol's teacher at the end of last term as he is now in a new class- to keep numbers down in the new entrant classes.  He has taken it all in his stride and is happy.  We are proud if him :)

Big Picture Scrapbooking

So after a lot of deliberating I bit the bullet and registered for Nic Howard's Dimensional Details on the Big Picture Scrapbooking website.  You know what?  I'm glad I did!   Learning lots, using stash, and best of all getting LOs done.  I thought I might be a bit pressured, given that I don't have a lot of available time but instead I find myself looking forward to getting weekly guff- handouts/ message/ project etc and am inspired and motivated to complete.  Well lets hope that lasts as it's 12 weeks long.

So above pic- completed these tags in the holidays with Mr 5 in tow.  Ol got into the painting too.  Stamp and resist, using acrylic paint and distress inks. FUN FUN FUN.

LO above:   new for me I believe is using the black and white cardstock alongside the muted tones.  I think it highlights and accentuates though and will continue at times to do this.  The LO pic doesn't do it justice.

A more simple LO above.  I realised that when I mask and spray, it's often on plain bazzill so this was good to try.  I ended up mounting the LO on 12 x 12, which worked well.  Photo is by Steve Hussey.

Wall Art

This project was a UFO (unfinished object) that had just been hanging around.  Well FINALLY finished it.  It's a nature canvas for my 5 year old's room.

I was inspired way back by an idea on Christine Middlecamp's blog (link to the right).  I essentially started by cutting my 9 squares.  Created the 'toppings'.  Painted the outer edsges of the canvas.  Pieced it all together and stuck it down.  Voila!!

I loosely followed a doily tutorial for the square below, again on Christine's blog.

The black rubons are 7 gypsies and were a great find thanks Lyn Jordan!  She has some real treasures.

Hugs and Kisses: A Mini

We had such a lovely time staying for a couple of nights with our friends in Feilding at Easter.

I cut the tabbed pages of the Mini using my cameo.  I have mostly used October Afternoon pps, along with Bazzill.

 I finally, after months and months, got around to entering a challenge again.  Woohoo.  This was for Artfull Crafts- using RUBY ROCK-IT.  I simply love this range.  Stoked with how the LO came together.  A bit of Crate and Prima added in there.  The gorgeous pic was taken by our great friend and photographer Steve www.stevehussey.co.nz

Well as my good friend Lyn H says "make friends with disappointment".  I did not win.   ROFL.

LOVING the Tim Holtz edge distresser- thanks for the inspiration Vicki!.  Good for roughing up edges nicely.

So I didn't have the same Spellbinders die, so made do- love the effect though and the concept of not die cutting the top to retain the card crease is a goody!  The card was a perfect excuse to move the Jenni Bowlin butterfly from my Silhouette wishlist to my cart.  Stunning.

The title is on acetate (love this!) and simply stapled to either side.
